Wow! It's December! Ugh... that means alot of working this month.

Once again, Curt had a great number on the scales (which I am extremely proud of!) and I put on my obligatory 0.4 lbs (which I'm not proud of...). I have a couple of theories on this. I'm going to go with the theory that I'm not regular at all right now, DESPITE EATING THAT OAT BRAN!! So considering "THAT" hasn't happened in 3 days, it may explain my weight gain? Maybe??  Whatever the case, it's frustrating considering I'm strictly sticking to this diet.  I think that is my motto this week.  Also...  I'm trying really hard to cut out the sodas. It's been several days since I had one.  Altho I'm having an occasional coffee.

Oh...  by the way...  I am a rock star!  I have this girl I work with.  I say girl.... she's 57.  Anyways, she's deaf, some mental issues.  Anyhow, she obsesses about everything, but jewelry in particular really gets her going.  What I've heard is that when she was a little girl, her mom wouldn't let her have jewelry because she wasn't pretty enough to deserve it so when she gets it now, she goes crazy over it and tries to make it as pretty as she can.  On Thanksgiving, her boyfriend gave her a plain little silver pinky ring that was tarnished and beat up.  O..M....G.... worse person in the world to give a tarnished, beat up ring.  She spent HOURS that first night shining it and I even caught her shining it in bed on the carpet.  And apparently, she has been up for the past 4 nights shining it all night long and it just occurred to  them last night that they should perhaps take it away.  So we have some legal issues here...  She's an adult, it's her choice.  But if she's causing physical damage we can stop that.  And someone not sleeping for days at a time and who starts hearing voices when she is tired...  that's a problem.  She was taken in to a doctor yesterday and they made a contract between her and staff saying if she kept playing with the ring, it could be taken away. This morning, I talked to her about it, asked her why she kept doing that and she told me she just wants it shiny.  I have this friend who is a jeweler and called her, told her what's going on and asked her to play this game with me.  We went in this afternoon and she buffed and polished both of the girls' rings and checked other ones.  A couple good things came out of this.  #1 and most importantly...  her ring came out looking fantastic!  She hasn't even attempted to shine it as it "looks brand new," her words!!!  And the other girl has been wearing around her mother's diamond and ruby ring and we found out she lost a ruby and has 2 diamonds about to fall out so quit wearing it.  Of course...  the paranoia in that one flared up and she is positive that the jeweler stole her ruby.  Or maybe it was her room mate.  Or maybe it was a staff member...  drives me nuts.  I've spent a good hour or so explaining how those things just fall out sometimes and how I've lost my big diamond out of my wedding ring before.  Doesn't help...  But! the important thing is that the problem I was trying to solved appears to be solved and I'm happy about that.
