So...  before you all judge and say, we knew you'd come crawling back to us...  hear me out!  We are back on Dukan.  We collectively put 11 lbs. back on in a week and a half.  So there are a couple of reasons that I can pick from.  First of all, we switched to a low calorie diet, but I can be honest.  I have NEVER had good luck on a low calorie diet.  And because we knew we were adding in the carbs, we upped our exercise alot.  We were going every day, for close to an hour.  We still continued with a large water intake.  But...  It was my birthday weekend.  I turned 36 on Monday.  This is where I'll throw in "Happy Birthday to Ethan!"  He's my oldest and turned 15 yesterday.  I had several free birthday lunches that we took advantage of.  I would guess that is where our big problems really were.  Anyhow, we had this magic # that I told Curt if he hit it, we were going immediately back onto Dukan and he hit it this morning.  And that wasn't it.  Yesterday, after lunch I weighed in and I was .4 lbs down from my morning weight.  I went to the gym and worked out and then came home and had a fairly low calorie dinner and this morning...  I was up 3 lbs from yesterday's afternoon weight.  I was in a pretty crappy mood all morning from it.  This morning, we got up and ate breakfast and then went to the gym for a hour.  I weighed in after we got home and I was down 1.8 lbs. from this morning's weight so, I felt a little better.  And yippie...  TTOM has decided to come today.  Note my sarcasm... So we're starting over today.  We are doing 3-4 days of an attack phase and then back to cruising. Tomorrow's post will be labeled day 2, but I will continue off our original weight loss numbers.

It's been a while since I've posted so this is going to be a longer one... forgive me.

Last night, I had an appointment w/ a personal trainer to do a fitness analysis and set a exercise program for me.  OMG...  the fitness analysis made me feel like a failure.  I've been working out for over a month on a regular basis.  On my cardio, I'm fair.  Not even moderate or good.  3 years ago, I was very good.  I have something to aim for!  Bicep strength, I'm good, so no problems there.  Flexibility...  wow...  awful.  But, that's no surprise.  My overall fitness is average.  She suggested the elliptical machine to help my knee issues.  So I tried it.  My butt that has low impact on my knees.  I was dying after the 11 minutes I did.  Anyhow, I see some goals to work towards.  For just turning 36, I have a 40 year old body.  I promise that in 6 months, that will be better.  I guarantee you that 6 months ago, I probably had a 45-50 year old body.  I should have checked then but was afraid of what I was going to hear.

On a different note...  I want to start this paragraph by saying that this does not need to get back to my parents and any other family members (ahem, cough, cough...  yes, that is directed at you, Sandy).   I know I've mentioned it before, but not with all seriousness.  But, on February 14, our anniversary, I'm getting myself a boob job.  It has been something I've talked about for years and decided to go ahead and go for it.  I talked to the doctor and asked about continuing to lose weight and he said it wouldn't be a problem.  It was honestly the most awkward thing I've ever experienced.  And since I'm being honest, I'm a little worried about it.  I have a very broad rib cage and I had to go bigger than I'm totally comfortable with to compensate for that.  But according to the doctor, I will be smaller than what the forms make it appear to be because they going under the chest muscles which will strap 'em in!  I hope he's right because otherwise, some people might have heart attacks.  The whole process is quite funny.  You put on this bra that looks like a nursing bra and they put "forms" in it to pick and chose the size.  I now know my left side is bigger than my right.  So by putting on these forms, I was SHOCKED to see what it did for my figure.  I'm tall, broad shoulders, wide chested, and NO boobs!  And with the boobs, I looked ALOT skinnier.  In other words....  I'll be more in proportioned to the rest of my body.  So as far as my parents go...  they will be very irritated with me.  But, I personally don't see it to be any worse that any other procedure we use to make us look better, like braces for purely cosmetic reasons or getting moles removed because they embarrass us.  I could go on.  And besides, I'm 36 and done having babies. Why not?

And lastly, this is what I got for my birthday!
Love it!  Only, I have to go get it resized... AGAIN.  It's my engagement ring, a year or so late.  But I don't care...  I LOVE IT and it goes perfectly with my wedding ring.

  1. Congrats on the ring, it's gorgeous! Congrats on getting back on the Dukan saddle :) Have you read Wheat Belly? You can download the first few chapters for FREE from amazon or iTunes. It talks about wheat and joint pain. I saw a difference in a few weeks after starting the Dukan and didn't know about the connection until a few weeks ago. Check it out. I wish you continued success and good luck on your boob job. You'll look and feel fantastic!!!
