I think that I've decided to quit blogging on this blog.  I may start a new one and when I do, I will send messages to those I know who read this one so you can follow that one. But as of now, I'm done on this one. I will continue reading your blogs and commenting.

New post... from Curt cuz Jamie is out of commission

Well, she's not exactly out of commission, but she's a hurtin' unit!  Today was her (I'm a computer guy, so forgive me...) 'upgrade'.

We got up a little before 6 and made the 30 minute drive to Boise.  We waited forever... then we went back for pre-op.  Jamie did great (she HATES needles poked into her), and then they took her away.  I was left to... well, do nothing, for the next 3 hours before I got to see her again.  Surgery took 1.5 hrs, but the other 1.5 hrs was her in recovery.  When I saw her she was ready to go out the door!  LOL.  I guess she had had enough of that place.

We got something for lunch, mostly for me cuz we hadn't eaten since dinner the night before, and she didn't feel like food yet.  Although it wasn't 'diet' food, I had a FANTASTIC sandwich from a Vietnamese deli.  It had roast beef and WASABI!  I have a soft spot for wasabi...  it was FANTASTIC!

We went home after that.  I took her upstairs where we both spent the afternoon laying in bed watching RAISING HOPE (funniest show on TV right now, highly recommended).  Surprisingly she never napped.  She even went downstairs with me later and sat while I folded laundry.  After her pain pill at 6, she decided she was ok to go run a couple of errands.  Alrighty.... We went to Ryan and Mel's (my cousin, I work with both of them) and picked up a key...  then we went to Albertson's to get a copy of BREAKING DAWN.  Jamie started feeling nauseous in the produce section, she frantically demanded a produce bag, into which she emptied the contents of her stomach...  ew...  ;)  Mostly water and acid, and bananas.  This part was so funny:  we took it back to the deli area where she explained that she had vomited into a bag and needed a trash can.  The 17 year old zitty kid working back there took one look at that see-through bag and took 2 steps back... hilarious...  But, he stretched out a trash can as far as his arms would reach for her, so I explained that she wasn't contagious, she had just had surgery....  so funny...

But now she's feeling better (after puking 1 more time).  We're now sitting in bed watching our movie as our Valentine's/anniversary evening together.

I don't think we are going to be doing much weighing in over the next couple of weeks.  Jamie tried the scale tonight after the vomiting episodes... and found herself over 10 lbs UP!!!  So, she's not happy, but it's understandable since her body is all swollen and retaining water.  I'm only up by like 1 lb, so it's no big deal.  I seem to do that anyway...

So, I'm dropping in to let you all know that she's doing great...  We're laughing and holding each other, just like couples should do on their anniversary.

Just so you all know, I didn't let this holiday/occasion pass without finding something wonderful for my beautiful wife.  We were getting her ring back the other day from being sized (again...) and we decided to look around for a heart necklace for her.  Well....  I found the PERFECT one!  For anybody who has, or ever gets to meet this love of my life, she has the most SHOCKINGLY blue eyes...  This necklace is silver with a blue diamond heart inside of the silver heart.  My eyes landed on it, and I didn't need to see anything more.  We walked out with it all gift wrapped so that I could give it to her in front of the kids.  While she's not a fantastic actress, it was still fun, and the girls all thought it was as beautiful as we did.

Here is a picture of it from their website.  With her eyes, it's perfect... just like I think she is!

So, once she's ready, we'll get some "after" pictures to share with you all.

Thank you for those who sent prayers of safety for her, they were answered!

Curt (and Jamie sitting right next to me helping me spell!)

Happy anniversary, baby.  And happy heart day to everybody else!!!  Hope you all enjoyed it!

Well....  it's just another day.  The dryer quit working so we had to go get a new one.  Berlyn got a free pass to Wahooz...  this awful money trap that lures kids and drives parents CRAZY! So we went and played games, laser tagged.  Berlyn told me it was one of her favorite days ever so I guess the torture of it was worth it.

Crap, I'm tired.  I can't even try to think of anything to say.  But...  we both hit new lows today and right before my bed time shower, I weighed in and I'm up just a little from this morning so fingers crossed, tomorrow will be a good number.  What I did realize this morning...  I'm 8 lbs from a weight that I held steady at for close to 9 years, aside from the 9 months I was pregnant with Berlyn.  That will be huge to hit that number and even bigger to go under it.  Can't wait!

All new low number and new goal reached for me! So excited!  But my weigh in was late in the morning.  We got up and got the kids off to school and then laid down again and woke up at 11, and only because the phone rang.  We needed it.  It felt fantastic to sleep in like that.

For me, yesterday, I didn't feel well.  I spent alot of time in the bathroom and alot of food wasn't making it down into my stomach.  Then late at night, because I was finally starving, I slipped up and cheated.  Not horribly bad, but it was a cheat no less.  Yet despite that, I had a good number this morning.  We both got a couple of work outs in yesterday.  I had my strength training class which I have found that I LOVE.  Yesterday, we learned how to use our own body weight against us to "lift weights" and how those workouts are more effective that workouts with weight machines.  It was very interesting.  Alot of the women I workout with travel or have a  hard time getting to the gym so this was perfect with them.  AND...  I found out I can still do push ups!  But I definitely need to work on that.

I've been watching Curt limp around today.  His foot is hurting him again.  I'm hoping he can keep working out.  Maybe another doctor's appointment is needed. We didn't work out today because we were #1 busy and #2 both of us were hurting.  Tomorrow tho...

It was nice to see a good woosh on our first day back on Dukan.  Both of us were encouraged.  I suppose some was water weight.  And I actually started having bowel movements again.  I'm over here rolling my eyes at that.  It frustrates me to no end.  I'm hoping to hit my next goal (1.5 stones) by surgery day.  I'm 1.4 lbs from that and I think it shouldn't be a problem to hit that in 10 days.

We were going to go exercise today but we both have hamstrings that are SCREAMING at us so we're taking the day off.  My mom and I went to Briyanna's cheer competition in Boise.  It was fun.

So...  before you all judge and say, we knew you'd come crawling back to us...  hear me out!  We are back on Dukan.  We collectively put 11 lbs. back on in a week and a half.  So there are a couple of reasons that I can pick from.  First of all, we switched to a low calorie diet, but I can be honest.  I have NEVER had good luck on a low calorie diet.  And because we knew we were adding in the carbs, we upped our exercise alot.  We were going every day, for close to an hour.  We still continued with a large water intake.  But...  It was my birthday weekend.  I turned 36 on Monday.  This is where I'll throw in "Happy Birthday to Ethan!"  He's my oldest and turned 15 yesterday.  I had several free birthday lunches that we took advantage of.  I would guess that is where our big problems really were.  Anyhow, we had this magic # that I told Curt if he hit it, we were going immediately back onto Dukan and he hit it this morning.  And that wasn't it.  Yesterday, after lunch I weighed in and I was .4 lbs down from my morning weight.  I went to the gym and worked out and then came home and had a fairly low calorie dinner and this morning...  I was up 3 lbs from yesterday's afternoon weight.  I was in a pretty crappy mood all morning from it.  This morning, we got up and ate breakfast and then went to the gym for a hour.  I weighed in after we got home and I was down 1.8 lbs. from this morning's weight so, I felt a little better.  And yippie...  TTOM has decided to come today.  Note my sarcasm... So we're starting over today.  We are doing 3-4 days of an attack phase and then back to cruising. Tomorrow's post will be labeled day 2, but I will continue off our original weight loss numbers.

It's been a while since I've posted so this is going to be a longer one... forgive me.

Last night, I had an appointment w/ a personal trainer to do a fitness analysis and set a exercise program for me.  OMG...  the fitness analysis made me feel like a failure.  I've been working out for over a month on a regular basis.  On my cardio, I'm fair.  Not even moderate or good.  3 years ago, I was very good.  I have something to aim for!  Bicep strength, I'm good, so no problems there.  Flexibility...  wow...  awful.  But, that's no surprise.  My overall fitness is average.  She suggested the elliptical machine to help my knee issues.  So I tried it.  My butt that has low impact on my knees.  I was dying after the 11 minutes I did.  Anyhow, I see some goals to work towards.  For just turning 36, I have a 40 year old body.  I promise that in 6 months, that will be better.  I guarantee you that 6 months ago, I probably had a 45-50 year old body.  I should have checked then but was afraid of what I was going to hear.

On a different note...  I want to start this paragraph by saying that this does not need to get back to my parents and any other family members (ahem, cough, cough...  yes, that is directed at you, Sandy).   I know I've mentioned it before, but not with all seriousness.  But, on February 14, our anniversary, I'm getting myself a boob job.  It has been something I've talked about for years and decided to go ahead and go for it.  I talked to the doctor and asked about continuing to lose weight and he said it wouldn't be a problem.  It was honestly the most awkward thing I've ever experienced.  And since I'm being honest, I'm a little worried about it.  I have a very broad rib cage and I had to go bigger than I'm totally comfortable with to compensate for that.  But according to the doctor, I will be smaller than what the forms make it appear to be because they going under the chest muscles which will strap 'em in!  I hope he's right because otherwise, some people might have heart attacks.  The whole process is quite funny.  You put on this bra that looks like a nursing bra and they put "forms" in it to pick and chose the size.  I now know my left side is bigger than my right.  So by putting on these forms, I was SHOCKED to see what it did for my figure.  I'm tall, broad shoulders, wide chested, and NO boobs!  And with the boobs, I looked ALOT skinnier.  In other words....  I'll be more in proportioned to the rest of my body.  So as far as my parents go...  they will be very irritated with me.  But, I personally don't see it to be any worse that any other procedure we use to make us look better, like braces for purely cosmetic reasons or getting moles removed because they embarrass us.  I could go on.  And besides, I'm 36 and done having babies. Why not?

And lastly, this is what I got for my birthday!
Love it!  Only, I have to go get it resized... AGAIN.  It's my engagement ring, a year or so late.  But I don't care...  I LOVE IT and it goes perfectly with my wedding ring.
