Curt and I made a decision together that we need to add a bit of carbs and fruit back into our diets. We are both struggling mentally and think it may be due our lack of carbs. This doesn't mean that we are thoroughly off Dukan. We are using what we have learned from Dukan and using it as a base. When I say adding carbs, we mean maybe a few whole grain crackers into a snack, a sandwich here and there. We have been upping our exercise alot and hope that this will help offset what we add in.
On a different note, I am at a all new low. And I took my measurements again. Since August, I have shed 19.75 inches from my body. I have taken 2 inches off each thigh, almost 5 inches from my boobs (GRRRR), almost 4 from waist and hips. I'm pretty happy with those numbers! I'm going to start working harder on my belly and thighs. Those are my big problem areas....

Day 59
I'm not sure what our weights were this morning, but I know we were both up. I was up .8 lbs and I think that Curt was up .2 lbs, but I'm not sure exactly what. I'll get the weights for sure tomorrow. We both have behaved well as far as eating goes. We both worked out yesterday and I worked out today. I have strength training tomorrow at 9 a.m. I'm super excited about that. I took a shower tonight after I worked out and weighed in before I jumped in. I weighed exactly the same as I did this morning so I'm REALLY hoping for a good number in the morning. It's late... gotta get up at 6 to get kids off to school so off to bed. I'll be a better blogger tomorrow.

Well... I guess no water aerobics this morning. I looked up their website and their 9 am workout in the water is called "Let's Go Deep" and this girl is deathly afraid of deep water. We're going to go watch it and see if they use some sort of flotation devices and just watch for a couple minutes to see how it works.
LATER: ARGH! We went to the rec center... they WERE doing the water aerobics! Darn it!
And We're up, again. No surprise. It's the way our bodies seems to work, but I felt so close to breaking thru a barrier that I haven't gotten passed in MONTHS. Maybe next week...
Lunch, to me, was fantastic! I took spicy pork rinds that are carb free, but high in fat, crushed them and put a thin layer over the egg dipped pork steaks and grilled them. YUMMY!

Today was supposed to be a PP day, but we decided to make it a PV day since it is Curt's last day off for the next 6 days. I was looking at numbers and Curt has lost 6 lbs in 1 week! Amazing! We've both been working really hard this week and behaving amazingly. We've been sitting here playing cards and watching movies this evening and we almost talked ourselves into a couple glasses of wine because our backs were starting to ache. But we talked ourselves out of it. I think we're going to try to get up tomorrow and do the water aerobics at the rec center. We'll see. But I'm going to sign up for a strength training class 2 days a week, Tues and Thurs mornings from 9-10. Then Curt can come down with me and do his own work out during that time. I'm actually pretty excited about it. It starts next Tuesday.
Okay... off to more scary movies!

This is what we woke up to this morning:
LOVE IT!
We tried something new this morning. I am SO SICK AND TIRED of plain old eggs and ham that I do ANYTHING in my power not to eat them anymore. In fact, when I do have to eat plain eggs, I gag them down. So, once again... I was reading in the magazines from my mother-in-law and found scrambled egg muffins and they were terrific!
Here's the recipe. It supposedly makes 12 muffins, but I got 18.
1/2 lbs. ground sausage, browned and drained
12 eggs
1/2 onion, chopped finely
1/4 c. red bell pepper, chopped finely
4 green onions, chopped finely
1/4 t. garlic power
1 t. salt
1/2 t. black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, spoon into muffin tins (2/3 full), bake for 20-25 minutes @ 350 degrees.
I like mine w/ a dash of hot sauce.
Curt and I have both been having a great week, but Curt specifically is doing amazing!

Curt hit his next goal: 3 stones!! He's had a FANTASTIC past couple of days!!! The kids all went to their other parents' houses so we decided to go out for dinner. We went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner where we discovered a FANTASTIC deal. They have a 2 for $15.99 deal on Tuesdays, so we got both of our meals for under $17!! We normally easily spend $50 every time we go there. Anyways... yes... we both had baked potatoes, but we both asked for the toppings on the side and used the sour cream and butter sparingly. And I'm going to find the recipe for that dressing on line... it was FANTASTIC! Gotta love FANTASTIC days!
I was reading thru a pile of magazines that my mother-in-law gave me and found an interview w/ Brooke Burke (host of Dancing with the Stars) and this is what she said about dieting: "If I really crave something, I'll eat it and then get right back into the groove afterward. I don't feel like I've failed or fallen off the wagon. Eating healthy should not be torture." I think that I might just print that off and tape it to my mirror in my bathroom. So with that in mind, that small baked potato (that I didn't eat all of) doesn't make me feel like a loser!
